Alpha Iota Iota Chapter: Key Accomplishments During Each Administration





Brother William Burls (Omega Chapter 2007) was a charter member of AII and our first Basileus, serving from 1989 to 1991. He was initiated at Rho Psi Chapter (Tennessee State University) in 1964.

a. Mandated programs of Omega Psi Phi initiated in new chapter

b. All held Purple Hearts Fundraising event

c. Chapter spearheaded social events such as: picnics, barbecues and fish fries

Brother William 'Wild Bill' Green is a charter member of AII and served as Basileus from November 1991 through October 1993. He was initiated at Beta Chapter (Lincoln University, PA) in October 1968.

a. African themed fundraiser, "African Extravaganza", put chapter in "black"

b. First inductee in Alpha lota lota initiated in August 1992

c. Chapter awarded first scholarships to deserving students in 1992

d. First of two Annual State Organization Meetings of Lone Star State Ques hosted by AII,  in February 1993


Brother Earl Simpkins is a charter member of AII and served as our third Basileus from 1993 to

1994. He was initiated at Beta Chapter (Lincoln

University, PA) in October of 1960.

a. Popular second "African Extravaganza" held

b. Chapter's goal to grow membership continued

c. Most brothers initiated in chapter than any other period

Brother Sterling Cannon served as AII Basileus from 1994 to 1996. He was initiated at Xi Beta (Henderson State University, AR) in fall 1974.

a. Communication improved within chapter

b. Past chapter meeting notes provided to brothers

c. Genesis of chapter newsletter grew from meeting notes





Brother Earnest Burke served as AII Basileus from 1996 to 1998 and again from 2000 to

2002. Brother Burke joined AII in 1989. He was initiated at Rho Theta (Prairie View A&M

University) in 1975.

a. Chapter reoriented towards community service.

b. All earned respect of brothers throughout the 9th district.

c. First AII member to serve as an officer (Vice President) in Lone Star State Ques

Brother Harry Anderson is a charter member of AII and served as AII Basileus from 1998 to 2000. He was initiated at Xi Zeta (Memphis State University) in the spring of 1976.

a. Alpha lota lota Talent Hunt participatant won first place at District competition due to his prioritization of the event

b. Developed and implemented AII's first three (3) to five (5) year strategic plan

c. Chapter's newsletter, Omega Herald, was published by Bro. Anderson

d. Conducted regional chapter leadership training for Metroplex Chapters

Brother Julius Chambers (Omega Chapter 2020) served as AII Basileus from 2002 to 2004. He was initiated at Alpha lota lota in the Spring of 1996.

a. Fiscal accountability and moral responsibility stressed

b. Gained momentum and contributions in scholarship and community service programs

c. The Chapter increased annual scholarship award donations


Brother Norris Bishop served as AII Basileus from 2004 to 2006. He was initiated in 1977 at Eta Xi (Mississippi State University) in spring 1977.

a. First Annual Chapter Worship conducted

b. First Cruise Raffle held with gross sales over $8000.00

c. The 30 year service Bridge Builder Award established

d. First District Officer (Assistant Keeper of Finance) from All






Brother Michael Hartman served as AII Basileus from 2006 to 2008. He was initiated at Theta Sigma (Dillard University, New Orleans, LA) in the fall of 1972. Brother Hartman joined All in 1999.

a. Chapter's number of units donate mandated blood drive increased

b. Forged a stronger relationship with UNT's Phi Gamma undergraduate forged

c. Provided more and larger scholarships to school students

d. Created fundraising and reclamation opportunity through working concessions at Frisco Rough Rider games


Brother Wayne Powe served as AII Basileus from 2008 to 2010. Brother Powe was initiated at Gamma Gamma Chapter (Grambling State University, LA) in the fall of 1978

a. Awarded 11 students scholar: the total amount of $8,000.00

b. Partnered with the Collin County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Inc hosting a two consecutive year fundraiser “Denim & Diamonds” for scholarships.

c. Spearheaded AII’s 20 Year Anniversary Celebration Event. 

d. AII’s Talent Hunt representative won District and went on to be an American Idol contestant.

e. AII-charter member of the National Pan-Hellenic Council-North Dallas Suburbia.

Brother Marvin Sorey served as AII’s 12th Basileus from 2010 to 2012.  Brother Sorey was initiated at Nu Psi Chapter (Virginia State University, VA) in the Spring of 1977.

a. Increased sales on Chapter Signature Event (Cruise Raffle).

b. Increased Student Scholarships total awarded and amounts.

c. Spearheaded Alpha Iota Iota sponsored Omega Psi Phi Fraternity’s Centennial Anniversary Black Tie Metroplex Wide Event.

Brother Ron Turner served as AII Basileus from 2012 to 2014. He was initiated at Epsilon Alpha (Fort Worth TX) in the Fall of 1988. He is a graduate of Tuskegee Institute 1976. He is the founder of the National Panhellenic Council-North Dallas Suburbia Chapter.

a. Restructured and incorporated a paperless system for chapter financial and committee reporting.

b. Established and updated the chapter policies and procedures.

c. Initiated the chapter health awareness program.





Brother John Williams served as AII from 2014 to 2016. Brother Williams was initiated at Theta Gamma Chapter (Eastern Michigan, MI) in the Spring of 2002

Brother D'Oyle Clark served as AII Basileus from 2016 to 2018. Brother Clark was initiated at Theta Epsilon Chapter (Brown University) in the Spring of 1993

Brother Rod Delph served as AII Basileus from 2018 to 2020. Brother Delph was initiated at Alpha Iota Iota Chapter (TX) in the Fall of 2011

a. Implemented the reduced local dues for Brothers age 65 and older.

b. Spearheaded AII's 30th Chapter Anniversary Celebration

c. Led Chapter during Covid-19 pandemic

d. Awarded 13 students scholarships totally over $25,000

e. Increased chapter membership from 87 members to 120

f. 2019-2020 year we won the 9th District Retention Large Chapter of the Year award


Brother Robert Bell served as AII Basileus from 2020 to 2022. Brother Bell  was initiated at Alpha Iota Iota Chapter (TX) in the Fall of 2017

a. Implemented new membership management software and automated dues payments

b. Improved chapter financial management with QuickBooks and Recurring payments

c. Improved chapter growth from 120 to 170 brothers
